Public Health England and new “Public Health Dashboard”
03 October 2017
Public Health England has been developing a new “Public Health Dashboard”, that will launched as a final version in July 2018 after a period of consultation.
PHE are publishing this dashboard as part of the Government’s transparency agenda which supports improvement in public services . Feedback they have received is that this information is used by a predominantly health professional audience so this dashboard will use existing published data about seven areas of local public health activity in one place. It is primarily aimed at supporting politicians and senior council officers in their local decisions on investment and disinvestment in public health services by enabling comparison with other similar authorities.
The initial version of the dashboard will include comparative data for the following service areas:
• Best start in life
• Child obesity
• Drug treatment
• Alcohol treatment
• NHS Health Checks
• Sexual health services
• Tobacco control
